Burst lines, backed-up sewers, no water. We answer at night and on weekends, because that is when most of it happens.
Call first, then act
Before anything else: if water is coming in, shut the main valve — usually in the basement near where the service enters, on the wall facing the street. If you cannot find it or it will not turn, call us and we will talk you through it while we are on the way. Half of what makes an emergency expensive is the twenty minutes before the water stops.
What we actually come out for
Burst and frozen lines through the winter. Sewage backing into a basement. A water heater that has let go. No water at all. A main shut-off that has failed. Anything where waiting until Monday means more damage than the repair itself.
What can wait
A dripping tap, a slow drain, a running toilet — those cost you money but they are not an emergency, and we will tell you so rather than charge you a night rate for them. Booking it properly in the morning is cheaper for you and better work from us.
Through the winter
Most of our winter emergency calls are lines in unheated spaces — crawl spaces, garages, an outside tap that was not shut off in the fall. If you are leaving the house for a stretch in January, that is worth ten minutes of prevention.
